Ok, so I got on the scale this morning. I know I shouldn't but if I see a loss, it keeps me excited and motivated. I was down almost 2.5! My belly actually feels and looks flatter already. I really will try to not get on the scale every day...but I'm not making any promises!
And I already exercised so that is out of the way. I did 2 10 minute sessions on the cross-country ski machine with a short water break in between and then did 18 minutes of shoveling heavy wet slushy snow.
For my snack last night I had the Ideal Protein wildberry yogurt drink and it was yummy! This morning I had their Fine Herb & Cheese Omelet and added 1/2 cup of broccoli to it. I let it get a little overcooked so it was dry but the flavor was very good.
So far I am surprised at the flavors of the Ideal Protein foods being so good! I wasn't expecting it really. Their site says they are "gourmet" but I did not believe it because all sorts of crappy foods call themself gourmet! This stuff is so far, surprisingly good. I have only tried 4 so far but will keep you posted to their taste as I try more.
I can be picky about good food. I always think it's part of my problem with my love-hate relaysh with food! I lived in a restaurant (Italian) until I was 14, a chef for a dad, my mom was the sort who, if I was good, she fed me Snickers bars and junk(apparently I was always very good!), we had a restaurant full of all sorts of yummy foods, I like to cook, my friends like to cook, and food is always part of socializing. We were always about food food food all the time! I like to drink red wine, which sometimes makes me decide at 9:00PM that I need a snack!
No wine on this diet(or other alcohol)which I will try not to whine about, but I know I will cheat on a Sat. night and have a couple of glasses because I enjoy it and don't want to deprive myself entirely.
My sweetheart should be home from school shortly(he's in college) and I need to figure out lunch. Salad and chicken soup today I think.
About my fiance-he's 46, 6'3", 175 lbs, he is super active(a soccer coach), exercises daily, he can eat whatever he wants and is the type who "accidentally" loses weight and complains about it. Argh! Sometimes I want to smack him in the head! He is a naturally thin type and I aspire to be one of those!
I haven't 'splained much about this diet I guess so I will post a little explanation soon...or just go to their website and look it up if you are interested because I might get lazy and not! idealprotein.com
ttyl! Oh yeah, if my words have no spaces sometimes it's because my spacebar isn't quite right and I miss it because I am not much for editing!
Tried the chicken soup-I must say-Yum! It was very creamy, as was the mushroom. Seems weird because I never eat anything with a cream base so it seems very rich and decadent. I really am pretty darn impressed with this food.
My rant for the day(I will try and keep them at a minimum):
It doesn't seem fair that I always eat so healthy and am still overweight! I do have portion control issues and will power control issues, I admit. I was eating a weight watcher style diet for the most part for the last 4 years or so and still gained a lot of weight back from the last time I did WW. I had lost 40 lbs and have put back on 30-35. I know I also am a lazy slug when it comes to exercise. It pisses me off that it realy is all about diet and exercise! Where is that magic pill dammit?!?
Ok, I'm over it, that pill doesn't exist apparently and I have to do the work. argh! Reminds me of Oprah-I have heard so many people exclaim: If I had Oprah's money I would never gain the weight back..she has cooks,trainers....blahdeyblahblah. It is still Oprah who has to eat the right food and get her butt on that treadmill and all the money in the world can't buy her willpower. At least she's not going the plastic surgery route and is keeping it real!
People who have drinking and drug problems can go into treatment and not do those things ever again but people with food issues have to keep eating several times each day and each time is a challenge to do it right.
