Okay okay, first things first. I do not actually plan to get skinny! I plan to lose some weight and get more fit...and I plan to do this once and one time only! That's because I have done it before but never have figured out how to get all the way to my goal or how to stay there. This time I plan to go all the way to my goal and to stay in that vicinity for the foreseeable future.
Today 2/22/2010 is my first day trying this plan called Ideal Protein which I found out about at my surgeon's office which is also a wellness center.
I am getting married at the end of May and had to buy a size 16W wedding dress. In regular dresses I am a 14 but wedding dresses fit differently. I love my dress, it's gorgeous. I tried it on for some friends and they took pictures and when I got home and looked at them....all I could see was a huuuuuge expanse of white! Did someone over expose these pictures somehow right on my digital camera because I am blinded by the white! Oh no, that's just big ole' me in a big ole' white dress! Ack!
How did I let this happen?!? This is even worse than relizing I am 48 and not 30 anymore and that there will be no going back and being young again! Apparently no do-overs with that age crap! But there are do-overs on losing weight you have regained and trying to stay healthy and keeping that pesky weight off.
I will post a picture of my big fat body so we have a "before" but I am in my jammies watching The Antiques Roadshow and fiddle dee dee I will think about it tomorrow.
I am new to this bogging crapola so have no idea who will ever read it. I would much rather complete strangers read it than people I know!
The plan is to get from 193 lbs to about 150 lbs which is a nice healthy weight for 5'7".
This is the 1st day on Ideal Protein and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I ate their crunchy cereal for breakfast, I ate 2 cups of veggies mixed into Ideal Protein Mushroom Soup and a salad for lunch and 2 cups of veggies and 5 oz. of beef for dinner. I was too full to have the salad for dinner as well and also still have to have a "snack" of my choice of Ideal Protein food.
The cereal was crunchy and had it's own milk product powdered in the package which tasted sort of like Carnation Instant Breakfast. Not bad really. The mushroom soup tasted pretty good and I put the 2 cups of veggies (steamed asparagus & watercress) into it. I will try one of their drinks for my snack I think.
I plan to blog along my way to my weight loss. I am thinking if I commit to writing about it, I may keep my commitment to weight loss and exercise.
Tomorrow I have to actually exercise....ick! I know it is good for me, but I sort of need the person w/ the gun to my head for the 1st couple months to make me do it. Once I start to see the results of the exercise and feel stronger, I start to enjoy it.....but I am in the need the threat of bodily harm stage now. I didn't even do any today and it was my first day! Great follow through, there Linnypoo!
I was too busy drinking 64 oz. of water and peeing every few minutes...yeah, that was it. You believe me, right??...because I don't!
Oh well, tomorrow is a new day(fiddle dee dee again I say!), at least I have stuck to the food part of the plan!
